Decision Point Confirmation Program

Client: Dynamic Catholic
Tasks: Brand Creation, Brand Implementation, Digital, Illustration, Print

When the Decision Point Confirmation Program was launched by Dynamic Catholic, it shook up the way many parishes approached the Confirmation Prep experience. Before Decision Point, many Confirmation programs were relics of the 60s and 70s, failing to speak to today’s youth in an engaging way. Through design and technology, Decision Point offers a vibrant new alternative.

Not only does Decision Point stand out for its playful design, but it was also one of the first Confirmation programs to offer a more comprehensive learning experience. Video lessons, online resources, and an app serve as companions to the workbook. In addition to working with a team on the overall design, I served as the project’s illustrator. The illustration style is a key element of the brand, and helps unify the content across all platforms.

An icon system allows the user to navigate from section to section in the workbooks, but is also used to align the content across different resources. This creates a seamless learning experience because the student can jump between print and digital material with ease.

The illustration style helps Decision Point stand out from other workbooks of its kind. The “doodle” style, is approachable and whimsical, giving the workbook the feel of a personal journal, rather than a textbook.

Throughout the workbook, playful illustration, vibrant color, and typography bring the content to life. Body copy is uninterrupted, allowing ease of reading, while bold callouts add interest and support the text.

When production of the program was complete, my team coordinated Decision Point launch. The campaign leveraged direct mail, email blasts, and social media. The design has a cleaner look to clearly articulate what the program offers.
