Client: Mercy McAuley High School
Tasks: Brand Creation, Brand Implementation, Illustration Print
Mercy McAuley, a new Cincinnati high school created from a recent merger, is leading a new generation of young women. However, forming a cohesive brand from two schools with distinct personalities of their own, was a unique challenge. Our design team rose to the occasion and created an energetic new brand that speaks to the modern student and expresses the power of sisterhood.
Much like student bodies unifying to start a new journey together, our design team pivoted from both school’s existing brands and built the new brand from scratch. One of the most distinctive aspects of the brand is the bold orange color, which sets the school apart from other Catholic schools in the area.
The wolf hunts in packs and is loyal, but is also strong and fierce, making it the perfect symbol for the student body. I was the lead designer that transformed the wolf into a mascot unique for the school. The simple, graphic lines give the mark a strong presence, while the asymmetrical shadows give the wolf her own personality.
Marketing materials help establish the brand and create buzz about the new school. Vibrant visuals and an approachable brand voice encourage young women to join the school’s dynamic community.
